Shubh Muhurat is designed to provide Vedic timing, Panchang, solar, and lunar information on Android and iOS with a respectful and minimal approach to data.
Information We Use
- Location: A selected city or, with your permission, your current location is used exclusively to calculate accurate local timing information.
- Preferences: Language, theme, onboarding, notification, and widget preferences are stored locally on your device.
- Analytics and diagnostics: Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may process app usage events, app-instance identifiers, device and app information, and crash diagnostics to help us understand usage and improve reliability.
Location Data
If you choose to use your current location, your device will ask for permission. Your geographic coordinates are sent securely to our timing service only when needed to calculate location-specific results. We do not retain those coordinates in our application database, use them for advertising, sell them, or share them with data brokers. You can instead select a city manually and use the app without granting location permission.
Notifications
Notifications are optional. If enabled, Shubh Muhurat may schedule local reminders related to daily timing guidance. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or your device settings.
Analytics and Crash Reporting
Firebase Analytics helps us understand general feature usage and app performance. Firebase Crashlytics helps us identify crashes and stability problems. These services may process pseudonymous technical information under Google's privacy terms. We use this information only to maintain, secure, and improve the app, and not for targeted advertising.
Third-Party Services
The app may communicate with our backend timing API and Google Firebase services for timing calculations, app configuration, analytics, and crash diagnostics. These providers process data only as needed to deliver their services and under their own privacy terms.
Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share location or app data for advertising. Data is disclosed only to service providers described in this policy when necessary to operate, secure, diagnose, and improve Shubh Muhurat, or when required by law.
Data Security
Network requests use encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical measures and limit the data processed by the app.
Data Retention and Deletion
Shubh Muhurat does not require an account. App preferences and cached timing data remain on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall it. Location coordinates are not retained in our application database. Analytics and crash data are retained according to our Firebase configuration and Google's service policies. Because there is no user account, there is no account profile to delete.
Children's Privacy
Shubh Muhurat is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the app, its services, or legal requirements change. The latest version and effective date will always appear on this page.
